Aru Valley

Chandanwari

Chandanwari is famous for being the base, or starting point, to the famous Hindu pilgrimage site, Shri Amarnath Yatra, which starts in June and ends in August. It is situated at an elevation of 2,895 meters, and located about 16 kilometers from Pahalgam. Baisaran Valley

Baisaran Valley, located just 5 kilometers away from Pahalgam in the Anantnag district of Kashmir, is famous as a top sightseeing destination, called mini-Switzerland because of its picturesque beauty. It’s a hilltop green meadow dotted with dense pine forests and surrounded by snowcapped mountains. Tulian Lake

Tulian Lake is situated at almost 3,353 meters, and located 16 kilometers approx. from Pahalgam. It is famous for its tranquil environs, blueish green waters and the wonderful sightseeing opportunities it provides, as it is situated in between the Zanskar & Pir Panjal mountain ranges. To reach the lake though, you will have to take a very long trek, known as the Tulian Lake Trek, which consists of steep climbs. Some tourists find it difficult, but is doable if you exercise regularly. Besides enjoying the alpine views and extremely peaceful surroundings.

Sheshnag Lake

Sheshnag Lake is located almost 17 kilometers from Pahalgam at an altitude of 3,590 meters approx. Its greenish waters are home to a variety of fish including the brown trout, while mountains and snowcapped mountains encircle it from all sides.

The lake’s water is also considered to be of high quality, since it’s low in algal production. The trekking route towards it is extremely scenic and offers you breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain terrain & huge grassland terrain. The lake is associated with many mythological legends, one of which states that it belongs to Sheshnag, Lord of the Snakes himself.
